It appears that Glamorgan won today's practice match versus Surry by 3 wickets with 6.4 overs to spare. Details hard to come by but Smith took 3 wickets and Donald scored 59. I'm sure our website will eventually post something.

In the second 50 over game today against Surrey, Glamorgan have won by 88 runs. Information is sparce but Cooke was key to the Glamorgan total of 285/8 with 93 no.

Very young top 4 but getting starts with Murphy getting an unbeaten half century. There is the opportunity for this group to forge a strong team ethos of the next few years.

Some good performances in Dubai although both Surrey and Lancashire missing a number of players to representative teams - not a problem for Glamorgan :)

Some Lancs players may be back for the 3 day friendly in Cardiff next week. But a lot will still be missing as half the squad will be playing against students at Loughborough. There is a one day overlap.

Interesting to see how Lancashire divide their resources. Uni game is a 1st class fixture but likely to get a better work out against Glamorgan.
Unfortunately looks very wet next week.

They claimed they would mix up the squad. But, if the weather is very bad in the first couple of days, I suspect they will want their "first" choice to go to Loughborough.

Glamorgan's preseason seems a bit of a mess playing Gloucs and Lancs at the same time the opposition are involved in MCCU games.
Nevertheless they got in a bit of a hole this morning at 18/3 against a very inexperienced seam attack before being rescued initially by Lloyd and Carlson, Lloyd top-scoring with 82, before Smith and Salter got the final score to a satisfactory 281/9 from 50 overs. At that point the heavens opened and play was abandoned.
Hopefully Lancs will be able to spare a few players for a more meaningful game on Thursday.

as I posted in the Lancs section. Livingstone has been barred from the Loughborough game by the ECB, so presumably you can add him missing the Glamorgan game. Add in Anderson, the ECB can't decide. Buttler IPL. Bohannon missed pre season tour due to injury. Hurt on tour but never played (presumed injured) that leaves a squad of 20 players for 22 places. Of course Bohannon and Hurt may be cleared to play.

Edited to add:

I see on the Glamorgan website this game is advertised as a 2 day fixture, so common sense may win out so that Lancs then go onto Loughborough to start the 3 day match without an overlap.

As you say, it is now a 2 day game. Shame as it removes any competitive edge and as England have found out, that makes it far less useful.

16 days until first Championship game in Bristol. Some positives from pre season and hopefully with the addition of Marsh the young batsmen will push on. My prediction at the moment for the starting XI
Selman
Brown
Marsh
Carlson
Lloyd
Cooke
Salter
Smith/Wagg
TvdG/de Lange
Carey
Hogan

Personally would like to see Smith before Wagg. Bowling wise TvdG or De Lange probably slightly better bowling options but would make for a long tail particularly given the time of year. Could include Smith and Wagg and leave out Salter given the lack of threat posed by spin. Carlson could always bowl some spin as could Wagg.

Lancashire have named a 13 man squad so assume all will take part.
Tom Bailey, Karl Brown, Steven Croft, Alex Davies, Brooke Guest, Haseeb Hameed, Keaton Jennings, Rob Jones, Danny Lamb, Arron Lilley, Saqib Mahmood, Matthew Parkinson, Stephen Parry

Slightly stronger opposition than the Gloucs game!

Weather looks a bit better.
